If you’re asking us, then the answer will always be a loud “yes!” Preventive dentistry protects your smile and surrounding supportive tissues with exceptional ease. Rather than waiting for a problem to arise, we can often keep it from developing at all. Or, if something does begin to develop, we can treat it before the problem leads to damage. Questions and Answers About Preventive Dentistry:

Question: What is the point of preventive care?

Answer: We offer preventive dentistry to protect your smile and supportive structures from potential problems. This allows us to steer you away from problems that may happen. Or, we can quickly detect and treat problems the moment they make an appearance.

Question: What’s the main goal of prevention?

Answer: The main goal is protecting your smile. First, this means we will remove plaque that adheres to your teeth every single day. True, your home efforts are important in the fight against plaque. However, you cannot remove all of it on your own, which is where we come in. During preventive dental cleanings, we will thoroughly remove this substance, which is the leading cause of tooth decay and gum disease. The other main goal is to monitor your health. By keeping a close watch on your oral cavity, we can quickly identify issues like TMJ disorder, so we can alleviate discomfort and offer treatment.

Question: How do I practice good prevention?

Answer: We suggest you visit us once every six months for a preventive dentistry visit, which will include a cleaning and a dental checkup. You will also need to brush your teeth two times a day and floss once a day to keep your smile in healthy condition.
