Crooked or crowded teeth can cause discomfort and embarrassment. However, few teens and adults are willing to wear metal braces for up to two years to correct the issue. In light of this, Rodem Tree Dental offers two practically invisible alternatives with clear braces. What are clear braces?

Frequently Asked Questions About Clear Braces

Question: What does misalignment do to our oral health?

Answer: An uneven smile affects more than just your appearance. Misalignment allows food to become trapped between teeth, where bacteria can break down the particles to coat the teeth in plaque, weakening your tooth’s defenses. Thorough brushing and flossing can be difficult, preventing you from removing these stray food particles.

Question: How does Invisalign work?

Answer: Instead of using metal brackets and wires to reposition misaligned teeth, Invisalign involves wearing a series of clear BPA-free plastic aligners. The aligners gently correct the alignment of the teeth and will need to be worn every day for optimal results. You can remove them before meals or when brushing/flossing your teeth.

Question: What is ClearCorrect?

Answer: Like Invisalign, ClearCorrect uses barely visible aligners to correct misalignment. Patients wear the aligners every day for between 20 and 22 hours. We upgrade about every two weeks to a new aligner. The entire treatment takes about a year for adults and around 18 months for teen patients.

Question: Who qualifies for clear braces?

Answer: We recommend clear braces, both ClearCorrect and Invisalign, for patients over the age of 16 who have minor misalignment issues. We will perform a thorough checkup to assess the cause and extent of your uneven smile. From there, we will decide which orthodontic solution will work best for your smile.
