firstaidtoothThere are few things more frightening in life than accidents or sudden changes that affect your health. When it comes to your oral health, a broken tooth can be just as alarming as a severe toothache or other concern. Fortunately, we offer emergency dentistry to quickly treat your oral health concerns. Rather than feeling like you don’t know where to turn when a mishap occurs, you will know just what to do, so you can return to comfort and the healthy smile you deserve to enjoy. To find out more about what to do in the case of a dental emergency, look over the following:

When to Call Us

If something doesn’t feel right or if you experience a sudden trauma, you should call us immediately. We recognize that this situation may cause you a great deal of stress and anxiety, which is why we urge you to call no matter the time or the day. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, scheduling an appointment for you either during our usual business hours or after we have closed. Our goal is to keep your smile healthy and you feeling calm, relaxed, and confident about your oral health and dental care.

What To Do In the Meantime

We suggest that you do your best to follow some basic guidelines that will help improve your visit. Look over the following:

  • Take a non-prescription pain reliever like ibuprofen for pain or swelling.
  • Carefully rinse a dislodged tooth under warm water – avoid touching or disturbing the roots (or lowermost portion of the tooth). Place the tooth in a sealed container full of milk or saltwater and bring it to your emergency dentistry visit unless you can slip it back into its socket without using force. If you can, delicately close your teeth together so the tooth remains in place.
  • Gather broken tooth pieces in a sealed container and bring them to your visit.
